5 TV Shows You Should Watch

How To Get Away With Murder
How To Get Away With Murder follows law professor and criminal defence attorney, Annalise Keating, as she and 5 of her students become involved in a murder plot. HTGAWM is one of my favourite shows on TV. Although each season only has 15 episodes, it's so gripping and I love trying to figure who is behind each murder or scandal!

The People vs. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story
The People vs. O. J. Simpson revolves around the infamous murder trial of O. J. Simpson. The People vs. O. J. Simpson spans over 10 episodes, each looking at a different stage of the trial. The stand out in this series is Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark. I'd looked into the O. J. trial beforehand but I hadn't payed attention to each individual in it. I had no idea the type of criticism that Marcia Clark had to face, purely because she was the only female lawyer. I'm glad she's now getting the recognition she deserves!

Girl Meets World
Girl Meets World is a sequel to 90s favourite Boy Meets World and follows Cory and Topanga's daughter, Riley. When I was younger I loved Boy Meets World so even though I'm 20 years old now I couldn't resist watching this Disney show and I'm glad I did! Although I prefer BMW, Girl Meets World is really enjoyable and unlike a lot of Disney shows, it actually teaches important lessons. I also love the guest stars from old Boy Meets World characters!

Supergirl
Supergirl is based on the DC Comic and follows Kara Zor-El, Superman's cousin, as she decides to embrace her powers rather than hide them. I already watch The Flash and Arrow so I knew I had to watch Supergirl as it's set in the same universe and it's probably my favourite show to watch out of the three. Along with Kara, there are also 4 other prominent female characters - my favourite being Cat Grant, Kara's boss who founded her own media company. Season 2 has been moved to The CW which means there will hopefully be more crossovers with The Flash and Arrow.

Pretty Little Liars
Pretty Little Liars follows a group of 5 girls as they are tormented by an unknown villain. I've stuck with PLL for 6 long seasons and waited 5 years to find out who 'A' is, only to have 'A' replaced with another villain. It's definitely not the best show on TV but it's my guilty pleasure. If you're looking for something that's easy to watch and will keep you guessing then I'd recommend it!

What have you been watching recently? Any recommendations?

What I've Been Watching Recently #1

It's no secret that I watch a lot of TV and films - my nights are normally dedicated to relaxing in front of my TV with Pascal sleeping beside me! I thought I'd share what I've been loving recently:

Wet Hot American Summer
When this was advertised on Netflix I wasn't that interested in it - but when I realised just how star studded the cast was (Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd & Bradley Cooper!) I decided to give it a shot. I hadn't seen the film so I wasn't sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. It is without a doubt, one of the weirdest, funniest things I've ever watched. The style and humour kind of reminded me of a mix between Community and Parks and Recreation which can only be a good thing. Michael Showalter completely stole the show as Coop and Ronald Reagan. I also loved Chris Pine as Eric! I really hope they make a second season but 8 episodes was just not enough - definitely one of my favourite shows now!

If you love this you'll love: Parks and Recreation, Community

Jurassic Park
After reading the novel, I thought it was finally time I watched the film. Although I loved it, I didn't enjoy it as much as the book. There was quite a few characters left out, and not all the deaths were the same. The ending was also different - instead of destroying the park and killing the dinosaurs they just left it all behind! However, I did like that Lex was the one that was smart with computers and managed to get the power back on. In the book she was had no clue what to do about anything!

If you love this you'll love: (I have no clue for this one, but probably Star Wars or something? Idk)

Suits
I started watching Suits back in January and I was very quickly hooked on it. I'd completely forgotten that season 5 started in June so I was happy to see that it's already on in the UK! I love following the lives of Harvey and Mike and I've always enjoyed a good law tv show.

If you love this you'll love: How To Get Away With Murder, The Good Wife

The Great British Bake Off
This is without a doubt my favourite reality TV show - I have a slight obsession with Mary Berry and I love Paul Hollywood's dry comments! Who knew a show about baking would be so good?! Honestly, there's nothing more tense than watching someone make an ice-cream cake, only to discover the ice-cream is too big (I'm looking at you Alvin!)

If you love this you'll love: Cake Boss - The Next Great Baker

My Favourite Disney and Pixar Films

I'm a pretty huge Disney fan, I have countless DVDs, books, snowglobes, mugs, stuffed toys, dolls... You name it, I've probably got it. So I thought I'd share some of my favourite Disney and Pixar films. It was hard to choose but I managed to narrow it down!

  • Alice In Wonderland
  • Basil The Great Mouse Detective
  • Beauty and the Beast
  • The Emperor's New Groove
  • Finding Nemo
  • Monsters Inc
  • Tangled
  • Toy Story

Childhood Chick Flicks

Like any young teenager, I loved watching chick flicks. Form 90's classics to Disney's own films, I watched them all. In light of the most amazing news ever from a few weeks ago (a new Princess Diaries film - all my dreams came true!), I thought I'd share my favourite childhood chick flicks that I still love to this day:

  • Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging
  • Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen
  • Clueless
  • Mean Girls
  • New York Minute
  • The Princess Diaries

A few others I enjoy include Wild Child, The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday and every other MKA Olsen film!

San Diego Comic Con 2014

Comic Con is the best time of the year - no joke. For one weekend a year I mope around, sad that I can't go to the panels and have to wait for them to turn up on youtube. This year's Comic Con did not disappoint, from a million Marvel panels to Game of Thrones, let's take a look back at my favourite moments!

'I'm a Khaleesi, not a Queen.'

Without a doubt, one of the highlights of SDCC was the Game of Thrones blooper video that started of their star studded panel. GOT can be quite a heavy show, and each episode is filled with scheming, violence and deaths. So it's fun to see the cast having fun and realising that their not always so serious! The best part was definitely Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Peter Dinklage dancing into the throne room during Tyrion's trial scene. And of course, Emilia Clarke's scene with Michiel Huisman.

Everything About 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron' Panel and Cast

I love love love The Avengers cast. It's not secret among my friends that I have a slight obsession with Chris Evans and that I once watched the Avengers four or five times in one week. The cast turned out in force this year (minus a very pregnant Scarlett Johansson) and they didn't disappoint. I loved Robert Downey Jr's over the top entrance - dancing to Don't Stop Till You Get Enough and throwing a suitcase of roses to the crowd - and of course, Chris Evans gushing over Chris Hemsworth and dancing with Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Only a year till the film comes out...

GRRM Shade and Bad Decisions

Let's be honest, George RR Martin shade is the best shade there is. Have a look at this. With filming of season 5 of Game of Thrones just starting, Comic Con gave the showrunners the chance to reveal their new cast members and give book fans the biggest shock since Lady Stoneheart was cut. They cut Arianne Martell and gave her major role to her brother. I honestly don't know what to think, Arianne is one of my favourite characters from the books!

Women Who Kick Ass

Tatiana Maslany, Sarah Paulson, Maisie Williams, Katey Sagal, Natalie Dormer and Nicole Beharie all attended the 'Women Who Kick Ass Panel'. Natalie Dormer had a few really interesting things to say, including this: "I don't think that it's healthy for young girls to be looking at these beauty magazines and watching TV and these shows and thinking [that's the standard]...".  Katey Sagal also touched on ageism  and how it plays a factor, particularly in American TV. You can read the full quotes here.

Even More Marvel Films

So I wasn't really excited about Ant Man until I realised that Paul Rudd was playing him. PAUL RUDD. Everyone loves Paul Rudd, especially Mark Ruffalo. And Guardian's of the Galaxy 2 has a release date for 2017, I haven't even seen the first one yet but I already can't wait!

What were you highlights of Comic Con 2014?!

Top TV Shows - Part 1

Something you may not know about me is that I'm obsessed with TV shows. There's nothing better than sitting down to start a new show, and then accidentally watching 10 episodes in a row (this has happened to me multiple times). Some would call it sad, but honestly I think it's impressive that I managed to watch all six seasons of LOST in under a month. Anyway, I thought I'd take you though my top TV shows (excluding comedy and reality).

Agents of Shield
This is my new favourite show. I love Marvel films (I'm obsessed with Captain America) and I was so excited when Agents of Shield was announced, especially because Phil Coulson was going to be the lead character. It's a little slow at the start but after the tenth episode everything starts to come together and leads into two brilliant last episodes.

Bates Motel
So this is supposed be a quite serious horror/thriller show, but I genuinely can't take it seriously. Maybe it's because I can only think of Norman Bates as Charlie from Charlie and the Chocolate factory. Or maybe because they've made Norma Bates ridiculously crazy and over the top. Who knows? Anyway, I really like this show - I think it's really interesting and can be quite funny due to the over top nature of it.

Broadchurch
This show is absolutely amazing. I literally could talk about it all day. But instead all I'm going to say is David Tennant is ridiculously good in it and you should all go watch it if you haven't already.

Charmed
A show about three sisters that are also witches? I'm pretty sure that's all that appealed to me when I started watching this when I was six years old. I remember watching it every day after school for two hours for about 5 years. I also remember crying when it finished - I'm still hoping for a reunion.

Desperate Housewives
I think this is the first show that I watched from when it started to when it finished - although I probably shouldn't have been watching it at nine years old... This is one of those shows that there a character everyone can relate to whether you're a shopaholic like Gabby, a hopeless romantic like Susan, a clean freak like Bree or a stressed out mum like Lynette. Every season brings a new mystery, and usually a new creepy character that's hiding a huge secret.

Doctor Who
When I say Doctor Who is one of my top TV shows, please note that I mean only series 1-4. It all goes downhill after that. I just love Doctor Who and I'm still not over Rose leaving. If you ignore everything after David Tennant's last episode, it's a brilliant show.
