June Street Style Inspiration

Another month, another street style inspiration post. This month is all about the simple, relaxed outfits that perfect for both Summer and Autumn! I'm really loving white or striped t-shirts paired with denim right now, with a leather jacker for colder days! I'm also on the hunt for the perfect striped dress and high-street equivalent of the Acne blush biker jacket!

May Street Style Inspiration

As Summer approaches, I find it hard to dress more weather appropriate. I'm definitely a Winter lover and my Summer wardrobe consists mainly of black. In an attempt to brighten up my wardrobe, I've been getting more wear out of my denim shirt and jacket and my blue jeans. Paired with a plain white t-shirt, it gives off an effortless look which isn't too far away from my Winter style!

For cooler days, I've been going to my leather jacket to keep me warm - another casual style that I love. I've also been wearing my long-line sleeveless blazer paired with a black fedora, and I'm on the hunt for a blush pink bomber jacket and hat - any recommendations are very welcome!

What have you been wearing this month?

April Street Style Inspiration

This month I really need to pick up a black pinafore - they're so easy to style and they're also really versatile! I'm also loving bomber jackets right now. I wasn't really sure about them when they first came back into fashion but now I'm on the hunt for the perfect one. With the Spring weather coming in it's also time to bring out my Ray-Ban clubmasters and my denim jacket - two of my favourite things! And as usual, my fedora is firmly attached to my head (unless it's windy!), although I think I need to pick one up that isn't black...

March Street Style Inspiration

This month I'm really loving wearing my pink coat again - it's the perfect pastel shade for Spring! With the weather finally brightening up, I'm also able to wear my fedora again without the fear of it blowing away. Paired with my Nike trainers and a breton top, it's the perfect every day outfit!

I also really want to get a pair of blue mom jeans - quite different from my usual black joni jeans but I think they'll be really nice in the Summer.

February Street Style Inspiration

This month I really want to get back into wearing my leopard fur coat that I got last year - I definitely don't wear it enough! I'm hoping the really cold weather continues so I can pile up the layers with a super cosy blanket scarf on top. I've also just realised that I need to pick up a new pair of Converse soon because they look so great paired with camel coats!

January Street Style Inspiration

I used to post quite a lot of street style inspiration so I thought it was time I brought it back in a new way! I'm constantly looking at street style for some fashion inspiration - whether it's on Pinterest or Tumblr. This month I'm really feeling oversized coats and bike/aviator jackets! All of these looks are styles I would wear - stylish but perfect for everyday wear!

Dream House: Living Room & General

In terms of living rooms, I've always wanted a huge grey sofa! I've always imagined having a grey/white/metallic colour scheme with lots of throws and cushions so make it cosy in the Winter. I'd also love a gallery wall with some cool prints and photos. My dream house would be full of various plants and flowers as well to inject a bit of colour and life!

What would your dream living room look like?

Dream House: Bookcases & Office

There's nothing I want more in life than a wall of bookcases (or my own library) and a nice home office. I could honestly spend all my time on Pinterest looking at pictures of brilliantly styled bookcases or pretty white offices. I'm literally all heart-eyed emoji at the gold bookcase and the monochrome offices.

What would your dream office and bookcases be like?

Dream House: Bedroom & Wardrobe

Today I'm sharing some dream bedroom and wardrobe inspiration! My dream bedroom would have a huge, cosy bed and feature lots of greys, pastels and metallics - pretty much my room right now. I'd also love white floorboards as its just not a possibility in my room just now.

Of course, every girl dreams of a walk-in wardrobe - I've wanted one for as long as I can remember. However if it's not a possibility I'd still be happy with one that's built into the walls and has lots of spaces for organisation - like the Ikea Pax ones! I also really want a clothes rail to feature new-in clothes or my favourite pieces for the season.

What would your dream bedroom and wardrobe look like?

Dream House: Bathroom & Kitchen

I thought I'd do a new series of posts all about my dream house! I spend way too much time on Pinterest, lusting over pretty houses so it's about time I shared them with you.

For the bathroom, I'd love to have a free-standing bath. I always think they look to luxurious and posh! I'd also go with a black and white theme, with a pastel shade to add some brightness.

For the kitchen, I'd follow the same idea. I love the pairing of bright whites with pastel pink and mint. We're actually getting our kitchen decorated just now and I think that's the palette we're leaning towards. All I want in life is a pink Smeg fridge.

What would your dream bathroom and kitchen be like?

An Autumn Moodboard

Since it's the 1st of September tomorrow (the day I go back to Hogwarts) I thought I'd share my Autumn moodboard! I usually spend the whole of March-August waiting for Autumn to come again. The first few months will mostly consist of getting back into university work, completely coursework and starting revision. But at least I can do it from the comfort of my couch in my pyjamas!

I love the fashion, the warm colours, the cold days and I actually love being back at university again. It's finally time to settle down with a cosy blanket, a good book and a cup of tea!

My birthday is also in October so I always start to get excited for it around this time. I've already starting making my list!

What would your Autumn moodboard consist of?

Inspirational Quotes #2

The second post in the inspiration quotes series. Find the first here.

Some nice motivational quotes for anyone that is needing some inspiration or encouragement.

Inspirational People: Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen

1991 - Full House, 2000 - promoting their new line of dolls, 2002 - Vanity Fair party, 2004 - Hollywood Walk of Fame Induction

I've been fans of MKA for as long as I can remember, from watching Two of Kind and all their childhood films, to following their style throughout their later years, I've been here for all of it.

They've worked their whole lives since they were 9 months old on Full House, and haven't stopped since. They had multiple TV shows together, as well as 12 films together - featuring favourites such as Passport To Paris and Winning London. Their last film together was New York Minute in 2004, the year they were also honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
2006 - Cannes Film Festival, 2008 - Chanel at PFW, 2008 - Influence book launch, 2011 - CFDA Awards

After moving on from film and TV, they quickly moved into the fashion industry - with Mary-Kate creating her own spin on the boho-chic look, which was named the 'homeless' look. They created a teen fashion line for Walmart - which I also remember being available in an Asda near my nan's house and I think I owned quite a few pieces from it! Since then they've released their own couture fashion label, The Row. They've also produced multiple lines for Elizabeth & James and had a collection for J.C. Penney. During this time they released a book, Influence, which featured interviews with prominent figures in the fashion industry. They became regulars at star studded events such as Cannes Film Festival and the Met Ball, and also sat in the front row of prestigious fashion shows like Chanel at PFW.
2013 - Bik Bok collection launch in Norway, 2014 - Elizabeth & James event, 2015 - Met Ball, 2015 - CFDA Awards

Most recently, MKA have released yet another fashion line in Norway and in 2015 they received the award for Womenswear Designer of the Year from the CFDA for The Row.

The reason MKA are so inspiring to me is that they've achieved all of this by the age of 29 - only 9 and a half years older than myself - and they're showing no sign of wanting to slow down. They're so dedicated to everything they do, and they even make time for charities and human rights work.

If I can have even a little bit of their success by the time I'm 29, I'll have done something right.

#UltimateLifeGoals

I did a similar post to this a couple of months ago on a moodboard that I had to make for university, but I thought it'd be fun to do it again on Polyvore! I've been thinking a lot about what I want to do when I'm older so here are my #UltimateLifeGoals:

  • Live in Paris
  • Write a book
  • Blog for an online magazine
  • Have a column in a well-known magazine
  • Keep blogging
  • Own my own online magazine
  • Have my dream office
  • Go to PFW
  • Start an online shop
  • Be a #GirlBoss

I realise that most of these are probably unrealistic (or maybe not - I should just make them happen!) but I think it's fun to picture an ideal life/career.

What are your #UltimateLifeGoals?

Summer Style Inspiration

I am absolutely awful for dressing for Summer. Winter is easy because I can add a million layers but I get hot way too easily in Summer. I also burn really easily so I liked to stay as covered up as possible, which is quite hard to do!  Anyway I thought I'd do a little Summer style inspiration post to get myself thinking about what I'm going to wear when it starts to get really hot! I thinking ripped jeans (hopefully no dodgy sunburn on my knees!), light t-shirts, kimonos and converse with some frilly trainer socks. My fedora will not be leaving my head either - perfect to keep my hair in place when it's breezy and to stop my head from getting burnt! I also want a pair of dungarees but I'm not sure I could pull them off.

What will you be wearing in Summer?

Inspiration: Olivia Palermo

Today I thought I'd share one of my style inspirations - Olivia Palermo. Although she was the bitchy girl that no one liked in The City, she was always my favourite. I love her classic style, which sometimes reminds me of Blair Waldorf in Gossip Girl. She's always seen on the Front Row, and she's one of the main reasons that I want to work in fashion (I was always so jealous when she worked at DVF and ELLE!). Whatever the weather, Olivia just gets it right.

Who's your style inspiration?

Actual and Ideal Self Moodboards

Actual Self

Ideal Self

I thought I'd share one of my seminar tasks from university where we had to create moodboards of our actual selves and our ideal selves. I love scrapbooking so this is one of my favourite things we've done this semester!

The first board shows my life right now - work, uni, Pascal, holidays and other interests.

The second board show my ideal life - travelling, going to fashion week, having my own business and being an all round #GIRLBOSS.

Hope you enjoyed seeing these! It's was really fun to do and now I have them up on my wall as a reminder of what I want to achieve, it's really quite motivating!

Inspiration: Quotes (#1)

I never used to like these inspirational quotes that you constantly see on Instagram. I thought they were cheesy and that there was no need for them.

However, I've had a change of heart since working on a university product. Long story short, it featured a lot of quotes like the ones above. I now love inspirational quotes, ones that make me focus on what I want to achieve and ones that tell you not to give up. It really puts into perspective why I put so much effort into university work.

So there you go, a collection of some of my favourite quotes right now. I hope they inspire you as much as they inspired me.

Always aim to be Leslie Knope.

Inspiration: Street Style (#1)

One of my favourite things to do is look through the street style tag on Tumblr. Not only does it make me want to buy new clothes that I don't need, it also gives me ideas of new ways to wear the clothes I already have. I thought it'd be nice to share some of my favourite looks and hopefully help inspire you as well!

Desk Inspiration

I went to university the other day to complete a presentation but spent half of time looking a pictures of nice offices on Pinterest (I swear it was kind of related to what I was doing!) So I suppose this post is a sort of wishlist of what I want my future office to look like.

When I eventually graduate, get a job and move out (scary thoughts!), I really want my own office. Either working for myself, or just having room my in future flat to blog. I've always wanted a big, long white desk and then have shades of pastel pink and green just to give it a bit of colour.
