What I Got For Christmas 2014: Primark Skirt

I want to start off by saying obviously I did not only get this one skirt for Christmas, I got lots of lovely things from my family and friends - including Daisy Dream, which I never want to take out of the packaging just because it's so pretty. Anyway, the skirt.

I genuinely cannot believe that this skirt is from Primark. It's such good quality - really thick wool like fabric and it has a lining underneath! It's definitely more like something you would buy in Topshop and it is actually similar to a lilac one I already have.

I think it was around £12, so it's super cheap and affordable as well. I think this will be a huge seller, if it's not already sold out! I wore it last night when I went out for drinks and it' already one of my favourite items in my wardrobe, I think it's really versatile.

Yep, I just wrote a whole post on one skirt. But I'm in love.

NYC Fashion Week SS15: Celebrity Style

Allison Williams in DVF, Olivia Palermo in Michael Kors, Alexa Chung in Christian Siriano, Joan Smalls in Fausto Puglisi.

Atlanta de Cadenet, Anna Wintour and David and Brooklyn Beckham at the VB show, Olivia Palermo, Lily Aldridge and Amber Le Bon in Mulberry.

A collection of my favourite celebrity looks from NYC Fashion Week.

Kitchen Inspiration

With my bedroom being nearly finished, my mum and I have decided to turn our attention to our kitchen. We seriously hate our kitchen - I can't explain why but we just do.

It's quite a small space and unfortunately we don't have a window in it so we want to keep things really bright. I think we're going to do out walls and tiles white and then add hints of pastel pink and mint in.

We've already set out sights on a mint green toaster and kettle and picked up some cute tea towels and canvases to hang up.

I'm obsessed with pastel shades right now so I'm really excited to get our kitchen sorted out!

The Best of: GQ Men of the Year Awards 2014

Where To Find Me

A little update on where to find me online...

Bloglovin': The easiest way to follow my blog and my latest posts is on Bloglovin'. It's really simple to follow and you can make an account and follow your favourite blogs even if you don't have your own. You can also 'like' or 'heart' your favourite posts to keep them for easy access.

Twitter: If you're a fan of obsessive tweeting you should definitely follow me on Twitter. I tweet links to my latest blog posts as well as tweeting along with tennis/swimming/any other sport or tv show I'm watching. I also cry a lot over Chris Evans (the actor, not the Radio 2 presenter - that would be weird!), complain about Kim K: Hollywood and talk about my love for Jim and Pam from The Office.

Tumblr 1: My first tumblr blog is for film/tv/other fandom things. I'm currently posting a lot of Pretty Little Liars, The Office, Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Tumblr 2: My second Tumblr blog is much more fashion focused, and is where I reblog street style outfits that inspire me, designer looks for catwalk shows and my favourite celebrity styles.

Instagram: Finally, you can follow me on Instagram as well. I post pictures of my little puppy, new things that I've bought, food and my OOTD.

So there you go! Five different places you can follow me and my blog.

The Best of: the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards 2014

Natalie Dormer in J Mendel and Sarah Hyland in Christian Sirian.

Allison Williams in Giambattista Valli, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Julia Roberts in Elie Saab Couture, Kerry Washington in Prada, Sofia Vergara in Roberto Cavalli and Heidi Klum in Zac Posen.

I literally cannot cope with the amount of amazing dresses at the Emmys. Without a doubt, Natalie Dormer has to be my best dressed - she killed it! The dress is perfect and I loved the little detail around the waist. I also really loved Sarah Hyland's outfit, even if the skirt is a bit large!

Who was your best dressed at the Emmys?

P.S. I'm still angry that Peter Dinklage didn't win.

The Best of: MTV Video Music Awards 2014

Kendall Jenner, Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner.

Beyonce, Gwen Stefani and Nicki Minaj.

If I'm honest, it was really a struggle to put this post together. There were no outfits that I absolutely loved at the VMAs, but these are the few that I actually did quite like. Beyonce looked stunning as always and I loved Gwen's outfit - it was different to everything else that was worn!

I think  Kendall, Kim and Kylie looked great together, but I wasn't too keen on their outfits when they were pictured separately.

And how cute was Blue Ivy?!

Who was your best dressed?

My Favourite Chick Flicks

I'm a huge fan of chick flicks. Apart from superhero films, they're probably my favourite type of film. They're so easy to watch and I find myself not wanting to look away. I thought I'd share my favourite chick flicks from over the years:

  • (500) Days of Summer (2009)
  • Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961)
  • Clueless (1995)
  • Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011)
  • The Devil Wears Prada (2006)
  • Easy A (2010)
  • Juno (2007) - Am I the only one that didn't realise that Dwight Schrute from The Office is the shop assistant? Mind blown.
  • Mean Girls (2004)
  • My Best Friend's Wedding (1997)
  • The Notebook (2004)
  • What's Your Number? (2011)

What are your favourite chick flicks?

River Island New Season Picks

Scarf | Skirt | Bag

I'm not usually a fan of River Island, I always think it's one of those places where you see a lot you like or you see absolutely nothing. However, I'm so impressed with their new season! I'm starting to pick up a few things for winter, since the good weather has disappeared, and these items are the first on my list.

I've actually already ordered the black faux fur lined gilet - I've wanted one for so long and when I saw this I just knew I had to have it! I also order the blue leather skirt but it didn't fit right so I had to send it back.

What are your new season picks?

The Best of: Teen Choice Awards 2014

Kylie Jenner, Selena Gomez, Shay Mitchell, Kim Kardashian and Lea Michele.

When I was younger (like 4 years ago!) I used to love the Teen Choice Awards, basically because every Disney star attended it. I'm not a huge fan now, but I loved some of the outfits from it!

Shay Mitchell from Pretty Little Liars was my best dressed - I just love the simplicity of a white outfit. I also really liked Kim Kardashian's (or should I say West's?) outfit - she can do no wrong right now!

Who was your best dressed from the Teen Choice Awards?

Style Inspiration: Lookbook & Tumblr

Whenever I feel like I need inspiration for new outfit ideas I always turn to Lookbook and Tumblr. I love seeing what other people are wearing and how they wear it - sometimes you just needs a few ideas on how to wear one particular piece of clothing! Here a few of my favourite looks that I've seen recently:

San Diego Comic Con 2014

Comic Con is the best time of the year - no joke. For one weekend a year I mope around, sad that I can't go to the panels and have to wait for them to turn up on youtube. This year's Comic Con did not disappoint, from a million Marvel panels to Game of Thrones, let's take a look back at my favourite moments!

'I'm a Khaleesi, not a Queen.'

Without a doubt, one of the highlights of SDCC was the Game of Thrones blooper video that started of their star studded panel. GOT can be quite a heavy show, and each episode is filled with scheming, violence and deaths. So it's fun to see the cast having fun and realising that their not always so serious! The best part was definitely Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Peter Dinklage dancing into the throne room during Tyrion's trial scene. And of course, Emilia Clarke's scene with Michiel Huisman.

Everything About 'The Avengers: Age of Ultron' Panel and Cast

I love love love The Avengers cast. It's not secret among my friends that I have a slight obsession with Chris Evans and that I once watched the Avengers four or five times in one week. The cast turned out in force this year (minus a very pregnant Scarlett Johansson) and they didn't disappoint. I loved Robert Downey Jr's over the top entrance - dancing to Don't Stop Till You Get Enough and throwing a suitcase of roses to the crowd - and of course, Chris Evans gushing over Chris Hemsworth and dancing with Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Only a year till the film comes out...

GRRM Shade and Bad Decisions

Let's be honest, George RR Martin shade is the best shade there is. Have a look at this. With filming of season 5 of Game of Thrones just starting, Comic Con gave the showrunners the chance to reveal their new cast members and give book fans the biggest shock since Lady Stoneheart was cut. They cut Arianne Martell and gave her major role to her brother. I honestly don't know what to think, Arianne is one of my favourite characters from the books!

Women Who Kick Ass

Tatiana Maslany, Sarah Paulson, Maisie Williams, Katey Sagal, Natalie Dormer and Nicole Beharie all attended the 'Women Who Kick Ass Panel'. Natalie Dormer had a few really interesting things to say, including this: "I don't think that it's healthy for young girls to be looking at these beauty magazines and watching TV and these shows and thinking [that's the standard]...".  Katey Sagal also touched on ageism  and how it plays a factor, particularly in American TV. You can read the full quotes here.

Even More Marvel Films

So I wasn't really excited about Ant Man until I realised that Paul Rudd was playing him. PAUL RUDD. Everyone loves Paul Rudd, especially Mark Ruffalo. And Guardian's of the Galaxy 2 has a release date for 2017, I haven't even seen the first one yet but I already can't wait!

What were you highlights of Comic Con 2014?!

Commonwealth Games 2014

A post about my day in Glasgow, looking around George Square, Merchant City and Glasgow Green and also stumbling upon the road race....

I'm wearing: H&M hat, Primark t-shirt, New Look coat and bag, AA disco pants.

Yesterday my friend and I decided to go up to Glasgow and have a look around at the Commonwealth Games stuff! I hadn't managed to make it to any of the actual events but still wanted to get into the spirit. We went to George Square first to look in the massive superstore and then made our way to Merchant City. There were lots of cute little stalls at Merchant City and an Irn Bru store where some of the athletes were appearing! We ended up managing to see part of the road race as well, completely by accident. We had no idea what was going on but a nice man next to us explained everything and who would be cycling past! We then went to Glasgow Green, which took absolutely ages to get into!

We had a really lovely day and even managed to get out picture taken with one of the Clyde statues - highlight of my day!

The Best of: Vogue Paris Foundation Gala 2014

Kim Kardashian, Olivier Rousteing, Kendall Jenner, Alexander Wang, Frida Giannini, Karlie Kloss and Natasha Poly.

Emma Watson and Clemence Poesy.

Ain't no party like a Vogue party. Well, according to Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner's Instagrams. I thought I'd show my best dressed from the event, which took place a few weeks ago. I love that Vogue posted the pictures in black and white, it makes everything look so classic! Balmain is one of my favourite designers at the moment - ever since I saw Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's Met Ball dress - so I couldn't not include Kim Kardashian and Kendall Jenner! Although I'm not a fan of Kendall's hair, the dress is very similar to Rosie's. And as a huge Harry Potter fan, I just had to include Emma Watson and Clemence Poesy.

Who was your best dressed?

Sunny Days

I thought I'd share a few pictures from the sunny days we've been having in Scotland (although it's back to heavy rain today!). All throughout my life I've always hated hot weather, but I'be been trying to embrace it more this year and enjoy the sun while we have it. My friend and I went a nice walk along the front - where I saw that lovely blue house! - and went on an emergency ice-cream run since it was so hot. We also went for lunch at Flava one day, which was amazing! I cannot recommend their menu enough. We're hoping to go up to Glasgow one day this week and go to Merchant City for the Commonwealth Games!

What have you been doing with the sunny days?

The Best of: Couture Fashion Week FROW

Kim Kardashian, Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl at Valentino.

Chloe Moretz at Armani Privé, Olivia Palermo at Dior, Emma Watson at Giambattista Valli, Nina Dobrev and Elie Saab, Lily Collins at Chanel and Olivia Palermo at Elie Saab.

The most wonderful time of the year. I love couture week! I have to say, my favourite show was definitely Giambattista Valli - the dresses were just beautiful. Although, Dior was a close second.

And of course, it's isn't a fashion week without the world's best celebrities turning up. I loved Kim Kardashian's simple and natural look at the Valentino show, and Olivia Palermo was just on point all week - which is why she made my best dressed list three times!

Who was your best dressed and what was your favourite show?

A Trip To Largs

A few weeks ago my family and I decided to go to Largs to enjoy the sun, have lunch and most importantly - fill up the middle Sunday at Wimbledon. We had lunch at Bean & Leaf which I highly recommend. It's a little pricey but the quality is amazing! I had a cheese panini (my favourite!) with chips and it was insanely good. We went for ice-cream and then had a walk along the front. Largs is the perfect seaside town, with lovely shops and attractions down the front. I used to go loads when I was younger so it was fun to go and remember how much fun I had when I was a little girl! It was such a nice, bright day that I couldn't resist taking a few pictures and sharing them with you!

The Best of: Wimbledon Royal Box 2014

Natalie Dormer, Suki Waterhouse.
Kate Middleton, Kim Sears, Pippa Middleton, David Beckham, Victoria Beckham.

With Wimbledon and the tennis grass season over for another year (insert sobbing here) and mourning the fact that Roger Federer lost to Novak Djokovic in the final on Sunday (insert even more sobbing), I thought it was time to look back at the best dressed from the Royal Box.

Trust me, there's not many things more exciting than finding out who will be sitting in that all important Royal Box on Centre Court, watching the best players in the world battle it out. Ok maybe there is, but it's still fun to see who's going to be there!

Of course I loved Suki Waterhouse's outfit - it was just so different from what everyone else was wearing. And the fact that she was there with Bradley Cooper might have helped...

Kate Middleton looked perfect as always and I was super excited to see Natalie Dormer (aka Margaery Tyrell) there as well!

Who did you enjoy seeing in the Royal Box?

Room Inspiration

(Source: Pinterest)

I recently decided that it was time for my room to have a refresh and to say goodbye to my dark purple walls (seriously mum, why did you let me do that?!) that were making my room so dull. My room is now in the middle of being redecorated, and I have a good idea of what I hope it will look like when it's finished. I'm following the trend and going for a nearly all white room! Hopefully this will help me get more light into my room and it was look clean and tidy! Three of my walls will be completely white and one of them will have this amazing Paris print wallpaper. Luckily for me, I don't need any new furniture as I already have new white furniture from a couple of years ago.

I'm really excited to get my room redecorated and it's a complete step away from what it looked like before.

Do you have any tips for me?

NEW IN: Primark Baby Blue Structured Bag

I just had to share this new bag I got in Primark - I'm in love! I've been looking for a new bag for quite a while now and couldn't find anything I liked, until I saw this in Primark. I love the baby blue shade for summer and I think it will look nice paired with a monochrome outfit. It just fits everything I need for going out so it's the perfect size! You can't really go wrong when it's only £8 and it also comes in baby pink (which I already want to buy) and black.

I'm really impressed with Primark this summer and there's already a few other things I have my eye on.

What do you think of this bag? Will you be picking one up?

Evolution of Tennis Fashion 2000s-Present

It's safe to say that from the very late 90s and early 2000s, most women's tennis fashion moved largely away from the traditional outfits and featured more unique creations. Serena and Venus Williams became known for their outrageous and eye-catching outfits, although they're definitely more demure now. Another US player, Bethanie Mattek-Sands still keeps us entertained with her ridiculous creations.

Bethanie Mattek-Sands 2011, Serena Williams 2002, Maria Sharapova 2010, Bethanie Mattek-Sands 2007.

Jelena Jankovic 2014, Maria Sharapove 2014, Serena Williams 2013.

It's clear from the contrast in the two pictures that tennis fashion has moved again from outrageous outfits to more practical and subtle ones. For example, you're not likely to find anyone wearing a skin-tight playsuit like Serena did in 2002! Most Nike and Adidas outfits normally have two or three different colours and are nothing out of the ordinary. I'm glad we still have Bethanie Mattek-Sands taking things out of the box and keeping it interesting!

It's fun to see how the fashion has changed all the way from 1900 to now, a time when women can wear whatever they want.

If you missed part 1 of this series (Evolution of the Tennis Fashion 1900s-1990s) you can find it here.

Evolution of Tennis Fashion 1900-1990s

With Wimbledon started (aka the most wonderful time of the year), I thought it was the perfect time to look at tennis fashion. I love seeing how styles change and develop! So grab your strawberries with cream and a glass of Pimms and let's look through the evolution of tennis fashion...

1900s, 1920s.

1900s: In the 1900s, women's fashion was very conservative and tennis followed this trend. Women wore corsets, long, sweeping skirts with belts and long sleeves - I can't imagine it was very practical!

1920s: The 1920s was the flapper era and became known at the 'Jazz Age'. This was reflected in the change in silhouette (it was more loose and free!) and the arrival of drop-waist dresses. Headbands and visors also became more fashionable.

1930s, 1940s, 1950s.

1930s: Silhouettes became more feminine in the 1930s, and a much higher hem was introduced. Skirts and dresses were worn below the knee. Looks became more tailored and pleats were included.

1940s: Katherine Hepburn rejected the traditional skirt and top combination for high-waisted shorts.

1950s: Ladylike elegance apeared again in the 1950s with clinched waists (a nod to Christian Dior's 'new look'), white dresses and demure cardigans becoming popular.

1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s.

1960s: The 'mod mini' became popular in the 60s with hemlines still sitting just above the knee.

1970s: Outfits became much tighter and shorter in the 70s and trends followed the 'disco fever' of the decade. Patterned fabrics and exaggerated collars were worn by players.

1980s: In the 80s, bright yellow tennis balls were introduced to make it easier to see the ball on TV. This saw tennis fashion step away from the traditional all-white outfit (although Wimbledon kept it!) and a palette of pastel shades were made popular.

1990s: Taking inspiration from men's tennis star Andre Agassi, bright colours such as neons replaces the muted pastels. Lightweight fabrics such as nylon and spandex were also introduced - much more practical than the 1900s fashion!

Next up: 2000s tennis fashion, featuring some bizarre outfits (thanks to Serena Williams and Bethanie Mattek-Sands!).

The Best of: WTA Pre-Wimbledon Player Party 2014

Ana Ivanovic, Laura Robson and Victoria Azakenka.

Eugenie Bouchard, Venus Williams and Maria Sharapova.

I'm a huge tennis fan - like such a big fan that I will definitely say no to going out with my friends to watch my favourite players. I watch it nearly every week it's on and it just something I can never get bored of. Therefore you can just imagine my excitement every time there's a player party - I just love seeing what they wear when they're off the court! Last night, it was the turn of the female players to celebrate Wimbledon - the upcoming grand slam.

By far, my best dressed players of the night were Ana and Laura. I think both their dresses suited them so well and they looked stunning!
