A Sunday Catch Up (and This Week's Best Dressed #4)

Karlie Kloss, Olivia Palermo x2, Leighton Meester, Lily Aldridge and Rose Byrne.

I can never decide what to post on a Sunday, so I thought I'd do a mixture of both this week - my best dressed this week and a little catch up post!

Olivia Palermo was so brilliant this week that she made the list twice - impressive! I feel like everything she's wearing right now is beautiful - I'm obsessed with her style. And I'm clearly obsessed with the all-white trend right now, although I'd never wear it myself. I love Leighton and Karlie's looks, it just seems to effortless!

On to the catch up now, if you've been on my instagram in the past few months you might have realised that there's a new addition to my life - a little puppy! I decided to get a Jack Russell Chihuahua cross and I called her Pascal (straight out of Tangled!). I also finished my first year at university and passed all 6 of my modules and now I'm free for summer (and currently looking for a job, which is harder than you would think).

I'm now having a lazy Sunday planning blog posts and watching the tennis. Oh and is anyone else not prepared for the last episode of Game of Thrones? I'm so excited but I'm worried in case it doesn't live up to the book...

How are you spending your Sunday?

Pastel Picks

Summer is upon us which means Zara have come out with their usual selection of pastel coloured clothes. My wardrobe used to be completely black, white and grey, but I've recently started to add in a few more coloured items - most of them pastel! As someone who doesn't particularly like dressing for summer or the hot weather, the pastel trend is perfect for me. I think a pop of pastel really looks great with a monochrome outfit, and makes it a bit more summer appropriate.

I think my favourite piece from this post are the cute white and blue flats (which are only £30!). They would go perfectly with my powder blue coat that I got from Zara a couple of months ago. I love the light pink sweater as well - it's only £13 and comes in 10 different colours!

Will you be joining the pastel trend this summer?

Chanel Resort 2015

Just when you think designers are finished showing their collection until the next fashion weeks in September, they come out with their resort collections. These collections act as a filler between S/S and A/W.  They were originally targeted towards wealthier consumers and were referred to as the holiday or travel collection.

Clearly, waiting six months between collections is just not an option anymore.

The Chanel show previewed in the perfect holiday destination, Dubai. The guest list boasted a host of local princesses, potentates and flown-in celebrities and press from the rest of the world.  “This is something we could not dream of fifteen, 20 years ago,” Lagerfeld declared. “Look at this island, it’s like Atlantis, which rose out of the sea!”

Due to Dubai’s culture, Lagerfeld had a rich tapestry of fashion and historical references to draw from. The collection featured tunics and harem pants, backcombed hair and pointed slippers. With Chanel’s experience in print and embellishment, Lagerfeld combined Islamic tile prints and red and white checked dishdasha patterns with Chanel florals.

Towards the end of the collection, Lagerfeld included a look of elegance with Joan Smalls wearing a caramel crepe tunic with sequin embroidery and a scarf across her shoulders, which was allowed to flow freely as she walked down the runway.

What did you think of the new Chanel collection?

Best Dressed of the Week #3

Blake Lively, Solange Knowles and Beyonce all wearing Gucci.

Olivia Palermo, Henry Holland, Laura Bailey wearing Chanel and Laura Haddock wearing Mother of Pearl.

Another best dressed post featuring Bake Lively, surely not?! That's definitely not like me...
Everything Blake wears recently just looks amazing! And can we talk about how cute Olivia Palermo looks? I love the monochrome outfit and how she's added a pop of colour with the purple bag.
