Britain’s favourite supermodel and international
fashion icon, Kate Moss, has just recently launched her new Topshop collection last week. Following on from her first collection in 2007, which reportedly earned
her £3 million, the collection features four different themes: tailoring noir,
Balearic dressing, cocktail hour and pyjama dressing.
The collection is another chance for customers to
copy Kate’s effortless beachy style or her statement-making party looks.
Leading up to the collection, Nowness partnered up
with Kate Moss For Topshop for a series of short films dedicated to Kate. In
the videos, friends and fans alike discuss their favourite stories and moments.
Care Delevingne, who is set to become the new Kate
Moss, mentions in her video that the collaboration is ‘perfect’: 'London brand and London girl - THE London
girl - coming together. I knew she'd bring something to make it "her".
BBC Radio One’s Nick Grimshaw talks about the advice Kate Moss has given him
over the years and Vivienne Westwood also gives her thoughts.
Kate has taken inspiration from her own
wardrobe and style, much like her 2007 collection.
The new collection has influences from the
Seventies and includes fringed suede jackets, jump suits and maxi dresses. It
also features embroided smock tops, silk blouses and graphic print kaftans. The
weave waistcoat, suede shorts and blue fringed jacket all tone in with the Seventies
vibe of the collection.
Kate’s collection also reflects her more
laidback style and features baggy pyjama trousers, which used printed satin
material.
In terms of evening wear; there are frilled
flapper-style dresses and long numbers with thigh slits.
Although most of the collection is sold at affordable prices, one dress is said to be retailing for £600 – this is
to reflect the work that went into creating the hand-beaded dress.
The Kate Moss for Topshop collection is sold
globally in all Topshop stores and online.
